Wisdom Building Advice
Proverbs 4:4
“Then he taught me, and he said to me, “Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live.”
Rehobot Kids, have you ever received advice from Mom or Dad that did not seem pleasant to you? For example, telling you to study harder, limit your playtime, or reminding you to be polite to others. Sometimes we feel that such advice gets in the way of our fun. But in truth, parents give advice because they love us and want the very best for us.
In Proverbs 4:4, Solomon remembered how his father taught him good lessons. Good advice helps us make right choices and avoid many mistakes. The more willing we are to listen to and follow good advice, the more wisdom we gain in our lives.
Rehobot Kids, a wise person is not someone who always knows everything, but someone who is willing to learn and accept guidance. Therefore, let us learn to listen to and obey our parents with a willing heart. When we obey, God is shaping our hearts to become wiser, more mature, and pleasing to Him.
