Today’s Devotional Title:
When I Am Afraid, I Trust God
Psalm 56:3
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.”
Rehobot Kids, have you ever had a small pebble get into your shoe? Even though it’s tiny, it can really hurt when you walk. When that happens, you would stop, take off your shoe, and remove the pebble, right? Because if you leave it there, walking becomes uncomfortable.
Fear is a lot like that small pebble in your shoe. Sometimes we are afraid to speak in front of the class, afraid of the dark, afraid of being left by friends, or afraid to try something new. If we keep that fear inside, our hearts can become restless and uneasy.
But today’s Bible verse teaches us a beautiful choice: when we are afraid, we can choose to trust God. It’s very simple—we come to God in prayer. We can say, “God, I am afraid, but I choose to trust that You are taking care of me.”
God loves all children very much. He knows what is in our hearts and does not want us to walk in fear. When we give our fears to God, He replaces them with courage and peace.
So starting today, whenever fear comes, don’t keep it to yourself. Take out that “little pebble” of fear through prayer, and keep walking with joy together with God. Because with God, we are always safe and strengthened.
