The Umbrella That Is Always Carried
Ephesians 6:18
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
Every morning before leaving for school, Mom always told Farel, “Don’t forget to bring an umbrella. The weather has been changing frequently lately.” Seeing the clear sky, Farel felt it was unnecessary to bring it. However, on the way home from school, it rained very heavily, so he had to take shelter for a long time. The next day, even though the sky was clear again, Farel still brought an umbrella. Sure enough, it rained again in the evening. This time he could go home peacefully, even sharing an umbrella with a friend.
Upon arriving home, Mother said, “Sometimes we have to prepare before difficulties come.” Farel then understood that prayer is also like carrying an umbrella. We don’t need to wait for problems to arise before we pray. By praying every day, our hearts are prepared to face whatever happens, and we increasingly believe that God is always with us.
Rehobot Kids, good habits are best practiced before we truly need them. Prayer is one of the best habits we can practice every day. Through prayer, we learn to rely on God, seek wisdom, ask for protection, and gain strength to continue doing what is right.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, make prayer a part of your daily life. Pray when you wake up in the morning, before studying, before going to bed, and whenever you want to talk to God. The more faithfully we pray, the stronger our hearts become to live each day with Him.
