The Seat at the Bus Stop
Titus 3:8
“This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.”
After school, Kezia was waiting for public transportation at a bus stop with several other people. It was a very hot day, and everyone looked tired. There was only one empty seat at the bus stop. Just as Kezia sat down, an elderly woman arrived carrying a heavy shopping bag. She looked very tired.
Kezia hesitated for a moment because she was tired too after a long day at school. But then she remembered what she had learned in Sunday School about doing good with a sincere heart. So she stood up and gently said, “Grandma, please sit here.” The elderly woman smiled warmly and said, “Thank you, dear.”
There was no applause or loud praise for Kezia. But the atmosphere at the bus stop felt warmer. A mother who saw what happened said to her child, “See? Even a small act like that can make someone feel helped.” Kezia smiled quietly and felt happy inside.
Rehobot Kids, good deeds do not have to be big to be meaningful. When we help others, show kindness, and care for people around us, they can see God’s love through our lives. God wants us to be children who enjoy doing good—not to receive praise, but to share His love with others.
So let’s practice doing good every day, Rehobot Kids! Simple acts of kindness can help others feel cared for, loved, and encouraged.
