Stay Calm with God
Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Shalom, Rehobot Kids! Have you ever been teased by a friend? How do you feel? Maybe you are sad, angry, or want to retaliate. However, God does not want us to repay evil with evil. When our hearts are hurt, we can come to God and share all our feelings through prayer.
In the Bible, Noah was also considered strange by the people around him because he obeyed God. However, Noah did not retaliate against their mockery. He remained faithful in doing what God commanded. From Noah’s example, we learn to remain calm, patient, and trust in God, even when others do not treat us well.
Philippians 4:6 teaches us not to be controlled by worry. On the contrary, we are asked to bring all our feelings and needs to God in prayer accompanied by thanksgiving. When we pray, the Holy Spirit will provide strength, peace, and wisdom so that we can do what is right.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, if a friend mocks or hurts you, don’t rush to retaliate. Pray to God and ask for a heart full of love and patience. Believe, God will help you remain calm and become a child who pleases Him.
