Today’s devotional title:
Small Actions
John 13:34
“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another.”
One morning at school, Ani was sitting quietly in the garden, looking sad. She was thinking about what happened the day before, when Lani, her desk mate, suddenly stopped talking to her. Ani felt hurt when she found out that Lani was jealous because Ani got a higher math score. Ani didn’t understand why that made their friendship feel distant.
While Ani was still sitting there, she saw Lani arriving at school carrying a lot of things. In a hurry, Lani slipped and fell in the schoolyard and looked like she was in pain. Without thinking twice, Ani ran over and reached out her hand to help Lani stand up.
Lani held Ani’s hand, and tears started to fall from her eyes. She was touched because Ani didn’t make fun of her or walk away, but instead helped her sincerely. Lani apologized for her bad attitude, and Ani forgave her. They hugged each other again as friends.
Rehobot Kids, one small action done with love can make a big difference. Just like Ani chose to keep loving her friend, God also keeps loving us. When we fall or make mistakes, God comes to help us, lift us up, and hold us with His love.
So let’s learn to love one another the way Jesus taught us. Start with small actions every day, because through love, God’s light can be felt by the people around us.
