Today’s devotion titled:
Pleasing the Father’s Heart

Psalm 40:8
“I desire to do Your will, my God; Your law is within my heart.”

In one school there were two children who were very diligent and achieved good results. Their grades were always excellent, they were happy to help their teachers, and they never caused trouble in class. Yet not all their classmates liked them. Some felt envious and kept their distance from them. When this happens, we may sometimes wonder, “Why is it that when we try to be good children, not everyone likes us?”

Rehobot Kids, being obedient is truly good. We obey our parents, listen to our teachers, study hard, and do what is right. But we must be careful not to obey only to receive praise or to be seen by other people. True obedience comes from a heart that loves God and desires to please Him.

Obedience is not merely a duty or a way to earn rewards. It is an expression of our love for God. When we clean our room without being told repeatedly, study diligently, and play well with our friends without fighting, we are offering our very best to God. Even when it sometimes feels difficult or tedious, obedience done with a sincere heart is an offering that brings joy to the Father in heaven.
