Today’s devotional is titled:
One Mouth, Two Ears
Proverbs 17:27
“The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.”
God created our bodies in a wonderful and perfect way. Even when we were still in our mother’s womb, God carefully formed every part of our body. He gave us one mouth and two ears—and God never makes mistakes in His design.
Imagine if we had two mouths and only one ear. Wow, the world would probably be very noisy! Even with one mouth, sometimes we already talk too much. That is why God gave us two ears so we can listen more than we speak.
When our teacher is teaching in class, we learn to listen carefully until the lesson is finished. When Mom and Dad give us advice, we also learn to hold back and not argue right away. In this way, we learn to become patient and wise children.
Rehobot Kids, before we speak, let’s think about whether our words are kind and encouraging to others. Let’s use our mouths to say good things and our ears to listen wisely.
