My Heart Is Clear, My Heart Is Close to God
Matthew 5:8
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”
Usually, before going to school, we look in the mirror. We make sure our hair is neat and our clothes are clean. But have we ever looked into the mirror of our hearts? God cares more about what is inside our hearts than how we look on the outside.
God’s Word says that those who have pure hearts will see God. A pure heart means a heart that is clean from jealousy, lies, and anger. If our hearts are filled with those things, it becomes hard to feel peace and hard to stay close to God.
Imagine your heart is like a glass of water. If the water is dirty, you cannot see clearly. But if the water is clear, you can see all the way to the bottom. It’s the same with our hearts. When our hearts are clean, we can feel God’s love more clearly.
If you realize there is anger or jealousy in your heart, don’t be afraid. Come to God and ask Him to clean your heart. Let’s do a “heart check” every day so our hearts stay clear and close to God.
