Today’s devotion title:
Let’s Always Be Thankful!
Colossians 3:13
“Be patient with each other and forgive one another.”
Hi, Rehobot Kids! Have you ever felt annoyed because a friend didn’t want to share their toy, or acted like they didn’t care when you asked them to play? It really doesn’t feel good, right? Sometimes we just want to get mad or sulk. But there’s something God teaches us that can help our hearts stay calm and thankful.
Wait… thankful?
Yep! Being thankful is like drinking cold water when you’re really hot—it cools your heart down right away! When we choose to be thankful, we start remembering the good things God has already given us: a family that loves us, other kind friends, good health, and chances to learn and play.
God also reminds us to be patient and to forgive. Patience is like working out a muscle—the more you practice it, the stronger it gets. So if your friend doesn’t want to share yet, or they make you upset, don’t get angry right away. Try saying in your heart, “God, thank You for today. Please help me keep being kind.”
Rehobot Kids, a thankful heart makes us calmer, friendlier, and more like Jesus. So starting today, let’s learn to say, “Thank You, God!” in everything—even when something happens that makes us grumpy. God will be happy to see a heart that wants to learn to be thankful!
