Today’s Devotional:
Learning to Forgive with Love
1 Peter 4:8
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
One afternoon, Mina was drawing at home. She had worked hard to color her picture neatly. Suddenly, her little sibling accidentally bumped the table, causing a glass of water to spill and soak Mina’s drawing. Mina was very upset and was about to scold her sibling. However, seeing her sibling start to cry out of guilt, Mina chose to give them a hug and said, “It’s okay. Just be more careful next time, alright?” After that, they went back to drawing together.
Rehobot Kids, everyone makes mistakes. Perhaps a friend accidentally breaks something of ours, disappoints us, or says something that hurts our feelings. When that happens, we can choose not to hold onto anger, but instead learn to forgive and keep on loving.
Forgiving isn’t always easy. However, God will help us have a gentle and loving heart when we come to Him. A heart willing to forgive will be filled with peace and will improve our relationships with others.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, let’s learn to forgive with love every day. Don’t respond to wrongs with anger; instead, choose to love and forgive. Through a heart full of forgiveness, others can see God’s real love in our lives.
