Today’s devotion titled:
Keeping God’s Word in Your Heart

Proverbs 3:1–2
“My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.”

Rehobot Kids, have your parents ever asked you to tidy up your room, do your homework, or help with chores around the house? Sometimes we do these things reluctantly, complain, or even put them off. However, God teaches us that true obedience isn’t just about doing what we’re told, but also doing it with a willing and joyful heart. In Proverbs 3:1–2, God reminds us not to forget His teachings and to keep His commands in our hearts.

When we keep God’s Word in our hearts and put it into practice every day, our lives become more purposeful, secure, and filled with peace. God gives wisdom to children who are willing to obey Him so that they can choose what is right and avoid what is wrong. When we speak the truth, honor our parents, listen to our teachers, and follow good advice, we are showing our love for God.

Rehobot Kids, God doesn’t want us to obey out of fear of punishment, but because we believe that every command He gives is what’s best for us. So, let’s learn to say, “God, I want to obey You with a joyful heart.” When we keep God’s Word in our hearts and faithfully put it into practice, God will guide our steps and bless our lives.
