Today’s Devotional Title:
Growing Strong in the Lord
Colossians 1:10
“So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.”
Every morning, Lukas helped his mother water the plants in front of their house. There was one small plant that had almost dried up before. But because it was cared for every day, it began to grow green leaves and beautiful flowers. Lukas was happy to see how much it had changed.
Then his mother said, “Plants can grow when they are cared for well. Our lives with God are the same.”
Lukas began to understand. If he wanted to become a good child who was strong in the Lord, he needed to keep learning about God. He started praying more often, reading the Bible, and listening carefully to God’s Word in Sunday School. Little by little, Lukas became more patient, more helpful, and more obedient to his parents.
Rehobot Kids, God wants us to keep growing in Him too. When we pray, learn God’s Word, and do good things, our lives will produce good “fruit”—such as love, kindness, patience, and attitudes that please God.
Just like a plant grows little by little each day, we also grow when we stay close to God. So let’s keep learning about Him and doing what is good. As we do, our lives will become stronger and more pleasing to Him!
