Today’s Devotional Title:
God Makes Me Brave
2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.”
One day, Anto was chosen to lead the prayer at a school service. At first, he felt okay, but as the time got closer, he started to feel nervous. In his heart he thought, “What if I make a mistake while praying? Everyone will be watching me…” Anto became anxious and felt like he didn’t want to go up anymore.
Then Anto remembered God’s Word—that God does not give us a spirit of fear, but gives us courage. So Anto prayed quietly, “God, I’m scared… please help me to be brave.” Even though his heart was still beating fast, Anto chose to trust God and stepped forward.
When he started praying, his heart was still pounding and his voice was a little shaky. But he didn’t stop. Anto kept praying until he finished. Slowly, he felt calmer, and in the end, he was able to finish his prayer well. Anto felt happy because he had been brave enough to try.
Rehobot Kids, from this story we learn that when we feel afraid, we can come to God and ask for His help. God is the One who gives us courage. So remember, we are brave not because we are strong, but because God makes us strong.
