Today’s devotional is titled:
God Knows My Heart
Psalm 139:23–24
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Rehobot Kids, we need to remember that God knows us very well—better than anyone else. God does not only see what we do on the outside, but He also sees what is deep inside our hearts. When we smile, God knows whether we are truly happy. When we are quiet, God knows what we are feeling, even if we don’t say it out loud.
Sometimes, there are not-so-good feelings in our hearts, like anger, annoyance, jealousy, or the desire to lie. Other people may not know about them, but God knows everything. But don’t be afraid. God does not want to punish us—He wants to help us become better children.
Imagine your heart is like a room. If the room is dirty, we need to clean it so it can be comfortable and healthy to live in. It’s the same with our hearts. When we pray and ask God to search our hearts, He gently shows us which parts need to be cleaned and fixed.
God will guide us so we do not walk on the wrong path. So, Rehobot Kids, let’s be brave enough to come to God with honest hearts. When we are willing to be corrected by God, our hearts become cleaner, more peaceful, and more pleasing to Him.
