Today’s devotional is titled:
God Guides My Steps
Proverbs 4:11
“I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.”
It was recess time. Daniel and his friends were having a great time playing soccer in the school yard. When the ball was kicked very hard, it hit one of the school’s flower pots and almost knocked it over. One of Daniel’s friends said, “Let’s just go. Don’t tell the teacher or we’ll get in trouble.”
Daniel felt confused. He knew that walking away was not the right thing to do. But he was also afraid that the teacher might get angry if he told the truth. Then Daniel remembered what he had learned in Sunday School—that God always guides us to do what is right.
Finally, Daniel said to his friends, “I think we should tell the teacher. It’s better to be honest than to hide.” Even though he was a little scared, Daniel went to the teacher and explained what had happened.
It turned out the teacher was not angry like Daniel had imagined. Instead, the teacher praised Daniel for being honest and brave enough to do the right thing. Daniel felt relieved and happy because he had chosen the right path.
Rehobot Kids, God wants to guide our steps every day. When we listen to God’s Word and choose to do what is right, God is leading us in the path of wisdom. Let’s learn to ask God to guide every step we take so our lives will always walk in the right way.
