Giving with a Joyful Heart
2 Corinthians 9:7
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under pressure, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Today was a school holiday. Rina went with her mom to the traditional market to buy things for their home. Rina was really happy to help her mom shop. She excitedly carried some of the plastic bags filled with groceries.
Suddenly, Rina asked her mom for a little money. When her mom asked what it was for, Rina just smiled. Her mom gave it to her anyway. Not long after that, Rina walked toward the market exit and approached a small child who was sitting there selling tissues. Rina bought the tissues without asking for her change back. She even shared some snacks from her shopping bag with the child.
From a distance, Rina’s mom watched everything Rina did. When Rina came back, her mom hugged her warmly and smiled with pride. Her heart was so happy to see Rina giving sincerely and joyfully.
God’s Word in 2 Corinthians 9:7 teaches us that God loves people who give willingly and with joy. Giving should not be forced, but come from a heart that truly wants to share.
Rehobot Kids, let’s learn to give with a joyful heart like Rina. God really loves children who are generous, and He uses hearts that love to share to become blessings for many people.
