Today’s devotion titled:
For God Alone
Colossians 3:17
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
One day while taking a test at school, Kevin was suddenly tapped on the back by his friend Steve. In a whisper, Steve asked Kevin to share his answers because the teacher watching over them was not paying attention. Kevin felt confused. He wanted to help his friend, but he knew giving answers was wrong. In the end, Kevin gently refused and focused once more on his own work.
When the test was over, Steve felt upset and said Kevin was not a good friend for refusing to help. Kevin felt sad and uncomfortable. After school, he told his mother what had happened. She reminded him that his decision was right and pleasing to God. Even if no teacher saw, God sees every single thing we do. Hearing this, Kevin felt relieved, knowing he had chosen to do the right thing.
The next day, Steve came and apologized to Kevin, and they became good friends again. Rehobot Kids, sometimes doing what is right is not easy. Yet God wants us to remain obedient, even when no one else is watching. Let us learn to do everything to please God, because obedience even in small matters is very precious in His sight.
