Following God’s Commands
Joshua 22:5
“But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to Him, to keep His commands, to hold fast to Him and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
Rehobot Kids, before Joshua became the leader of the nation of Israel, he first served as Moses’ helper. For many years, Joshua observed how Moses led the people of Israel to obey God. Whenever the Israelites began to turn away from the LORD, Moses always reminded them to return and live according to His instructions. Therefore, before passing on the leadership to Joshua, Moses gave him this charge: to remain faithful in loving the LORD and living according to the path He has set.
This message also applies to us today. God wants us to love Him, obey His word, and walk in the right way every day. We can do this by speaking the truth, respecting our parents, studying diligently, and showing love to those around us. This kind of obedience shows that our hearts are close to God.
Rehobot Kids, when we faithfully follow God’s commands, He will help us, guide us, and stay with us. So let us learn to obey not with a complaining or unwilling heart, but with a heart full of joy. God is pleased to see children who love Him and faithfully do His will every single day.
