Today’s Devotion titled:
Don’t Contact God Only in Emergencies

1 Thessalonians 5:17
“pray continually.”

Rehobot Kids, have you ever had a friend who only comes around when they want to borrow a pencil or ask for a snack? After that, he just leaves. He only looks for you when he needs help. Of course, it doesn’t feel good, does it? Sometimes, without realizing it, we also behave like that toward God. We only pray when we are scared, sick, or facing problems, but when everything is fine, we forget to talk to Him.

In fact, God loves to hear our prayers every day, not just when we are in trouble. Praying doesn’t have to use difficult words. Prayer is like talking to your best friend. We can express gratitude for the food, talk about activities at school, pray for a friend who is sick, or praise God for a beautiful day.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, God teaches us to keep praying. It means, we can talk to God anytime and anywhere. When we wake up in the morning, before studying, while playing, or before sleeping, we can come to God with a sincere heart. God is always pleased to hear the prayers of His children.

Therefore, Rehobot Kids, don’t contact God only when you need help. Make prayer a daily habit. The more often we talk to God, the closer our relationship with Him becomes, and our hearts will be filled with peace and joy because God is always with us.
