Today’s devotion title:
Doing Things with a Thankful Heart

Colossians 3:23
“Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as if you’re doing it for the Lord, not for people.”

On Sunday morning, the church was busy getting ready for kids’ service. All the Sunday School teachers were tidying up the room, and Gio and his friends were asked to help arrange the chairs. Gio complained, “Why do I have to do this? I’m tired!” His teacher smiled and said, “Gio, when we do something with a thankful heart, it’s like we’re doing it for God.” That made Gio stop and think.

So Gio started helping with more excitement. And when all the chairs were neatly set up, he felt happy. He realized that serving God brings joy!

Rehobot Kids, today’s verse teaches us that whatever we do—studying, helping a friend, or helping our parents—we can do it like we’re doing it for God: sincerely and without grumbling.

When we’re thankful, work feels lighter. We remember that chances to serve and help are blessings from God. A thankful heart makes us work more seriously and brings joy to other people.

Starting today, try doing one thing with a thankful heart: clean your room, help your little sibling, or help a friend without being told. You’ll feel God’s peace and joy.

Remember, Rehobot Kids: your little hands can do big things when you do them with a thankful heart!
