Today’s devotion titled:
Do Not Withhold Kindness
Proverbs 3:27
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.”
A girl named Naya came home from school and wanted to immediately play or watch videos. However, when she entered the house, she noticed that her mother looked tired. Her mother had just returned from work but still needed to prepare dinner and tidy up the house.
At first, Naya thought, “Maybe later. I’m tired too.” But then she realized that there was something she could do to help. Without being asked, Naya put down her school bag, washed her hands, and began helping by setting the dining table, organizing the dishes, and bringing a glass of water to her mother.
Her mother smiled and said, “Thank you, Naya. You’ve helped me so much.” Hearing those words made Naya happy. She learned that small acts of kindness done sincerely can mean a lot to someone else.
Rehobot Kids, God teaches us not to withhold kindness when we are able to do it. We do not need to wait until someone asks us or until a big opportunity comes along. Helping our parents, assisting a friend, or joyfully doing small tasks are simple ways to show God’s love.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, let’s learn to be sensitive to the needs of the people around us. When we gladly do good to others, our lives become a blessing and produce fruit that pleases God’s heart!
