Discipline That Brings Good

Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

One day, Wahyu looked upset and sad. He was angry because his dad made a rule that he could only use his gadget for a maximum of two hours a day. If he used it longer than that, the gadget would be taken away. Wahyu felt that the rule was not fun.

That night, as Wahyu was about to go to bed, his dad came and asked to talk with him. His dad explained that the rule was made so Wahyu could learn to manage his time well—between playing, studying, and doing other activities. Even though it might not always feel pleasant, the rule was made because Dad loved Wahyu and wanted him to grow into a responsible person.

Wahyu finally understood. He apologized because he had been upset with his dad earlier. Wahyu also thanked him for loving him enough to guide and discipline him. They ended their conversation with a warm hug.

Rehobot Kids, sometimes the discipline from Mom and Dad may not feel enjoyable. But they do it because they love us. In the same way, God also teaches and guides His children so that we can become better people and grow to be more like Jesus.
