Choosing the Right Path
Psalm 32:8
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
Rehobot Kids, every day we are often faced with choices. Sometimes friends invite us to do something that seems fun, but we are not always sure whether it is good or not. At times like these, we need to learn to listen to good advice so that we do not take the wrong step.
One day, Niko was riding his bicycle in the yard with his friends. They saw a small road near the house that they had never passed before. One of his friends said, “Let’s try going that way! It looks fun.”
Niko almost went with them. But then he remembered his parents’ message not to go too far from home without permission. Niko paused and thought for a moment. He decided not to follow his friends and continued playing around the house instead.
At first, Niko felt a little disappointed because he did not get to explore the new road. But not long after, he saw his friends coming back with frightened faces because the road was slippery and full of rocks.
At that moment, Niko felt thankful that he had chosen to do the right thing. He realized that his parents’ advice had actually helped keep him safe.
Rehobot Kids, today’s God’s Word reminds us that God also guides our steps. God teaches us through His Word and through the advice of our parents and teachers so that we can walk on the right path.
So, Rehobot Kids, let’s learn to listen to God’s Word and follow His guidance every day. When we follow God, He will guide our steps so that we can walk on a safe and right path.
