Today’s Devotional Title:
Choosing Kindness Even When We Lose
2 Peter 1:5–7
“Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.”
During sports class, Nando played soccer with his team, but they lost the game. After the match, some of his teammates began blaming one another because they were disappointed. Nando felt sad too, but he remembered God’s Word about love and self-control. Instead of getting angry, he stayed calm and said, “That’s okay. We can try again next time.” His teacher noticed Nando’s attitude and praised him for it.
Rehobot Kids, Nando’s experience teaches us that good fruit in our lives is shown through simple choices every day. When we choose to speak kindly, be patient, forgive others, and do what is right, people can see God’s love through us. It may not always be easy, but God helps those who stay close to Him through prayer, His Word, and obedience.
A growing faith produces good character—love, patience, self-control, and kindness. God does not only listen to our words; He also sees our attitudes and actions. When we choose to remain kind even when we are disappointed or lose, God is shaping our hearts to become stronger and more like Him.
So let’s learn to produce good fruit wherever we are, Rehobot Kids. May our attitudes and actions help others see God working in our lives!
