Today’s Devotional:
Choose Love, Not Anger

Proverbs 10:12
“Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.”

When playing with friends or siblings, we sometimes have differences of opinion. For example, two people might want to use the same toy, a friend might accidentally take something of ours, or someone might say something that offends us. In situations like these, we can choose to react with anger or try to resolve the issue with love.

God’s Word teaches that hatred stirs up conflict, whereas love can calm it down. When we choose not to retaliate against hurtful words, but instead listen, speak gently, and offer forgiveness, we help create a more peaceful atmosphere. Loving doesn’t mean ignoring wrongdoing; rather, it means choosing to resolve problems without escalating the conflict.

Rehobot Kids, when you encounter a friend or sibling who upsets you, remember that you can choose to show love. Learn to hold back your anger, forgive, and seek a way to make peace. Ask God for help, because loving in our own strength isn’t always easy. When we choose love, we can become peacemakers at home, at school, and wherever we go.
