Today’s Devotional:
Being Patient with Friends
Ephesians 4:2
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
Rehobot Kids, have you ever felt annoyed because a friend accidentally broke a toy or did something irritating? You might have felt like getting angry right away. However, as children of God, we learn to possess a special quality: love. Love is shown in how we treat others, even when they make mistakes.
Being patient means learning to stay calm and not rushing to react with anger. We also learn to speak gently, be willing to forgive, and avoid thinking we are better than others. It isn’t always easy, but it is through attitudes like this that our love for others shines through.
When we find it hard to be patient, we can ask God for help through prayer. God will help us control our words and actions so we don’t hurt others. The more we rely on God, the more we learn to have a heart that is gentle, patient, and full of love.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, let’s keep learning to live in love every day. When a friend makes a mistake, don’t be quick to get angry or retaliate. Choose to be patient, forgive, and keep doing good. Let love be a part of our lives so that others can experience God’s love through our actions.
