Today’s devotion title:
Being a Light Through Thankfulness
Matthew 5:16
“Let your light shine in front of others, so they can see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
That day, heavy rain made the school field muddy, so PE class got canceled. A lot of students felt disappointed and started complaining. But Mira said, “It’s okay, guys. We can still have fun in class!” She invited her friends to play a simple game, and suddenly the classroom felt cheerful again. The teacher smiled and said, “Mira, you were a light today.” Mira looked confused, so the teacher explained, “Because you made the situation better with your thankful attitude.”
Rehobot Kids, when you’re thankful, your heart feels peaceful. But it doesn’t stop there—your attitude can help other people feel peaceful and happy too. Thankfulness spreads! When we’re thankful, we can change a bad mood into a good one.
Jesus said we should be a light. That means through kind actions, gentle words, and thankful hearts, people can see God’s love in our lives. You become a light when you help a friend, cheer up someone who’s sad, or keep smiling even when things don’t go the way you want.
You don’t have to do something huge to be a light. Small actions done with a thankful heart are already enough to make a difference.
So today, Rehobot Kids, try doing one small thing to bring light: help someone, comfort a friend, say sorry, or speak kind words. When you do it with a thankful heart, your light will shine and encourage many people!
