Today’s devotional title:
Being a Light by Sharing
Isaiah 58:10
“If you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the suffering, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.”
Rehobot Kids, do you remember during Christmas celebrations when we light candles together? At first, only one candle is lit, and then the flame is shared with other candles. Something amazing happens—when you share the flame, does your candle go out? No! Instead, the room that was dark becomes brighter and brighter.
That’s how kindness works too. God teaches us to share not only from what we have extra, but also from things we really like. When we’re willing to share our lunch, our favorite toy, or our time to sit with a friend who feels sad, that kindness doesn’t run out. God is the source of all goodness and light. He is the One who fills our hearts again with joy and blessings.
Today’s Bible verse reminds us that when we help people who are hungry and comfort those who are hurting, God’s light will shine through our lives. Even if our kindness looks small at first, it can bring great light to someone else.
So don’t be afraid to share, Rehobot Kids! Be like a small candle that’s willing to share its light. When you see someone smile because of your kindness, that’s a sign that God’s light is shining through you and lighting up many hearts.
