Today’s devotional is titled:
Asking God for Wisdom
Colossians 1:9
“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives.”
One day, Lala was doing her school assignment at home. Her teacher had given a task that was quite difficult, and Lala felt confused about where to begin. She tried reading her textbook, but she still didn’t understand it.
Lala began to feel frustrated. She almost gave up and said, “Ah, this is so hard!”
A little while later, her mother came over and asked, “What’s wrong, Lala? Why do you look upset?”
Lala replied, “I don’t understand this assignment, Mom. It feels really difficult.”
Her mother smiled gently and said, “If you feel confused, try to calm down first and pray. Ask God to help you understand.”
Lala then bowed her head and prayed, “Lord Jesus, I’m confused about this assignment. Please give me wisdom and understanding so I can learn it.”
After praying, Lala tried reading her lesson again with a calmer heart. Slowly she began to understand, and finally she was able to complete her assignment well. Lala felt happy and thankful to God.
Rehobot Kids, from this story we learn that God is pleased when we come to Him and ask for wisdom. When we pray, God helps us understand what we should do.
So, Rehobot Kids, don’t hesitate to pray when you feel confused or face something difficult. God is always ready to help and give us wisdom every day.
