Arga’s Evening Prayer
1 John 3:21
“Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God.”
That evening, Arga sat on the edge of his bed. He wanted to pray, but his heart felt uneasy. Earlier that day, Arga had lied to his friend so he wouldn’t be blamed. He bowed his head and thought, “Will God still listen to my prayer?”
Arga remembered his mother’s advice, “When we do wrong, come to God honestly.” Arga took a deep breath and prayed softly, “God, I was dishonest earlier. I’m sorry. Please teach me to have the courage to do what is right.” After praying, his heart felt lighter and calmer. There was no longer any guilt accusing him.
The next day, Arga mustered the courage to apologize to his friend. He felt relieved and braver. Arga also felt closer to God because he chose to be honest and do what was right.
Rehobot Kids, today’s word from God teaches us that when we live honestly and are willing to admit our mistakes, our hearts become calm. When our hearts do not accuse us, we can come to God with courage. God is pleased with children who want to live righteously and come to Him with sincere hearts.
