Today’s devotional title:
A Sincere Heart
Colossians 3:23
“Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people.”
Anton, a first-grade student, told his dad about his friend at school named Rudi. Rudi often shared candy or chocolate with his classmates. But after sharing, Rudi liked to show off and talk proudly to students from other classes. Rudi thought that by sharing like that, he would have lots of friends.
Strangely, not many kids actually wanted to be close to Rudi. Anton felt confused and asked his dad why. Anton’s dad explained that sharing is not just about how often we give, but about the attitude of our hearts when we give. If we share to show off or to be praised, that’s not the right heart.
Anton’s dad said that God is not pleased when we do good things with the wrong attitude. God wants us to share sincerely, without trying to be seen or praised by others. When we give with a pure heart, God’s love can truly be felt by other people.
God’s Word in Colossians 3:23 reminds us that whatever we do, we should do it as if we are doing it for God, not for people. When we do things for God, we will do them with the best and most sincere heart.
So, Rehobot Kids, let’s learn to have sincere hearts. Share with love—without showing off and without pride. God sees every good thing we do with the right heart, and He is pleased and will bless us.
