A Love That Is Willing to Forgive
Ephesians 4:32
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
One day, Rudi brought his favorite toy car to Danu’s house. While they were playing, Danu accidentally dropped the toy, causing one of its parts to break off. Rudi felt upset because he loved that toy so much. Danu immediately apologized and explained that it was an accident. Seeing that Danu felt guilty, Rudi chose not to get angry, and together they tried to fix the toy.
Rehobot Kids, love teaches us to be kind and compassionate toward others. When someone makes a mistake, we don’t immediately react with anger or hurtful words. Instead, we learn to understand, forgive, and continue treating them well.
Forgiving isn’t always easy, especially when our hearts are hurt. However, we can ask God to help us have a gentle and forgiving heart. Forgiving doesn’t mean saying that a wrong action is right; rather, it means choosing not to hold a grudge or repay evil with evil.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, let’s show love through kindness, compassion, and a willingness to forgive. When someone does something wrong, learn to resolve the situation well while continuing to show love. Through our attitude, others can experience God’s love in their lives.
