Today’s devotional is titled:
A Heart That Remains Calm
Psalm 112:7
“He will not fear bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.”
One afternoon, Arga heard news that frightened him. His father was sick, and the doctor had asked him to rest for a long time. That meant his father couldn’t work for a while. Arga began to worry. That night, he cried quietly. “What if Dad doesn’t get better? What if I can’t go to school?” he thought.
His mother hugged Arga and said softly, “Son, we don’t know what will happen. But God knows. God is in control of our lives.” They prayed together, surrendering all their worries to God.
The following days were not always easy. But every time fear came, Arga remembered their prayer. He learned that trusting in God made his heart calmer, even though the situation had not immediately changed.
Rehobot Kids, frightening news can come. But God’s word says that those who trust in God do not need to live in fear. When we lean on Him, our hearts become steadfast and not easily shaken.
Trusting in God does not mean that problems will immediately disappear, but our hearts will be strengthened. Because we know that our lives are in the hands of a faithful God.
