A Heart That Leans on God

Psalm 73:26
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

That day, Arkan came home from school with a gloomy face. He felt sad because he was not chosen to be class leader, even though he had hoped and tried his best. In his room he whispered, “I’m disappointed… my heart feels tired.” Have you ever felt that way too, Rehobot Kids? On the outside everything may look normal, but inside your heart feels heavy.

Today’s Bible verse reminds us that even when our hearts feel weak and disappointed, God is still our strength. He is our “rock”—a strong and safe place. God does not move away when we are sad. Instead, He wants us to come and lean on Him.

Guarding our hearts means learning to bring every feeling—anger, disappointment, or sadness—to God in prayer. Not keeping it all inside, and not taking it out on others. We can honestly say, “Lord, my heart is not okay today. Please help me.”

When we lean on God, our hearts are strengthened again. He gives us peace and helps us stay gentle and loving. So if your heart feels heavy today, come to God. He is the strength that never runs out and the One who always cares for your heart.
