Today’s devotional is titled:
A Heart That God Does Not Reject
Psalm 51:17
“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”
“Mom, I want to tell you something, is that okay?” Tini asked softly.
“Of course you can. What is it?” Mama replied softly.
“But promise me you won’t get mad.”
Mama smiled, “I promise I won’t get mad. Go ahead and tell me.”
In a soft voice, Tini said, “That time, I took money from Mama’s wallet. I wanted to buy an online game card with my friends. I’m sorry, Mama. I know it was wrong. I only did it once, and now I regret it.“ Tini looked down sadly. Mama hugged Tini and said, ”Thank you for being honest. Mama is happy that you had the courage to admit your mistake. It was wrong, and don’t do it again. Next time, if you need something, ask for permission first, okay?”
Rehobot Kids, from Tini’s story we learn that God is pleased with children who are honest. God knows everything in our hearts. There is nothing we can hide from Him. If today there are still mistakes that we are hiding, don’t be afraid. Come to Him. Say honestly, “God, I am wrong. Please help me.” God is pleased with humility and wants to be reshaped.
When we are honest, God accepts us with love and helps us to change. God never rejects a heart that comes sincerely. He restores, forgives, and makes our hearts new again.
