Loving Your Siblings
1 John 2:10
“Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.”
Rehobot Kids, have you ever felt upset because an older or younger sibling did something that hurt your feelings? There is a story like this in the Bible, too. Joseph was once treated very badly by his brothers. They hated and mocked him, threw him into a well, and even sold him, forcing him to live far away from his family.
Years later, things changed. Joseph held an important position in Egypt and met his brothers again. He actually had the chance to retaliate for how they had treated him. However, Joseph chose not to repay evil with evil. He forgave and helped his brothers when they were facing difficulties.
Rehobot Kids, loving your siblings isn’t always easy. Sometimes we argue, disagree, or feel annoyed with them. But love helps us avoid holding grudges or retaliating with hurtful actions. We can learn to forgive, speak kindly, and resolve problems the right way.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, let’s show love to our siblings every day. Learn to share, help one another, apologize when you are wrong, and forgive sincerely. When we choose to live in love, we are walking in God’s light and becoming a blessing to our families.
