Leading the Way in Respect
Romans 12:10
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
One day, Rina’s class was heading to the library. All the children were excited and wanted to walk at the front of the line. When they reached the doorway, Rina saw a friend carrying several rather heavy books. Although Rina wanted to go out right away, she chose to hold the door open and let her friend pass through first. “You go ahead,” Rina said with a smile. Her friend thanked her.
Rehobot Kids, showing respect to others can start with simple things. We can speak politely, listen when others are talking, give our friends a turn, or be willing to yield. We don’t have to wait for others to be kind first; we can take the initiative to show them kindness.
Respecting others also means treating everyone well without thinking of ourselves as superior. At home, we respect our parents and siblings. At school, we respect our teachers and friends. This kind of attitude shows that God’s love is real in our lives.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, let’s learn to take the lead in showing respect to others. Start by speaking politely, being willing to yield, and treating everyone kindly. Through an attitude full of respect and love, we can bring joy to the people around us.
