Prayer Helps Me Not Fall into Error
Matthew 26:41
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
One day, Andi was taking a test in class. He had difficulty answering some of the questions. Next to him, he could see his friend’s answers clearly. In his heart, Andi began to think, “Ah, just a little bit won’t hurt.” His hand almost cheated.
Suddenly, Andi remembered the word of God he had heard in Sunday School. He closed his eyes for a moment and prayed in his heart, “Lord Jesus, help me to remain honest.” After praying, Andi felt calmer. He chose to work on the problems by himself, even though not all of his answers were correct.
Rehobot Kids, we often face temptations to do wrong things, such as lying, cheating, or disobeying our parents. When that happens, don’t rely on your own strength. Come to God in prayer and ask Him to help us choose what is right. God will give us the courage and strength to do His will.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, make it a habit to pray every day, not just when facing problems. The closer we are to God, the stronger our hearts will be to resist temptation and live honestly, obediently, and pleasing to Him.
