Ignoring Instructions
Proverbs 13:13
“Whoever scorns instruction will pay for it, but whoever respects a command is rewarded.”
Mother had reminded Dedi twice to quickly prepare the things he needed to bring for the school camping trip. However, Dedi remained focused on playing. By evening, several items still had not been packed into his backpack. The next morning, Dedi woke up late and had to get ready in a rush. Because he was in such a hurry, he did not have time to read the note his mother had left as a reminder.
When he arrived at the campsite, Dedi realized he had forgotten to bring several important items. One of them was a blanket. That night, he felt cold and uncomfortable. Dedi felt regretful for not listening to and following his mother’s advice from the very beginning.
Rehobot Kids, ignoring instructions often leads to unpleasant consequences. On the other hand, when we are willing to listen and do what God teaches through our parents, teachers, and His word, we will avoid many difficulties. Therefore, let us learn to obey and value every good piece of advice. Obedience brings blessings, while ignoring instructions often brings loss.
