Today’s devotion titled:
Quick to Obey, Wise at Heart

Psalm 119:60
“I will hasten and not delay to obey Your commands.”

Dear Rehobot Kids, have you ever had Mom or Dad ask you to do something, but you replied, “Later, Mom” or “Later, Dad”? Maybe it was putting away your toys, doing your schoolwork, or helping with a simple task. Sometimes we want to keep playing first, so we delay what should be done right away. However, a wise person is someone who obeys quickly and does not put off doing what is right.

Imagine a teacher asking the students to water the plants in the classroom. One child does it immediately, and the plant stays fresh and grows well. But another child keeps saying, “I’ll do it later.” By the time the child finally waters the plant, it has already begun to wilt because it went too long without water. By delaying, the child missed the opportunity to take good care of the plant.

Rehobot Kids, the same is true in our lives. When God reminds us to do something good, apologize, help others, or obey our parents, we should do it right away. Quick obedience shows that we honor God. Let us learn to be wise children who are quick to obey. The more we practice doing what is right without delay, the more we will grow into children who please God’s heart and become a blessing to others.
