Today’s Devotional Title:
Shaped for the Better
Hebrews 12:11
“No discipline is enjoyable when it is happening. It’s painful. But afterward, it results in a peaceful harvest of righteousness for those who have been trained by it.”
One day, Riko really wanted to ride his bike after school. But before playing, Dad reminded him to finish his homework first. Riko felt annoyed because his friends were already playing outside. With a pout, he continued to do his tasks until they were finished.
After some time, Riko began to understand that Dad didn’t mean to make things difficult for him. Dad wanted to teach him discipline and responsibility. Because he was used to finishing his tasks on time, Riko became more diligent and no longer rushed when studying. His grades at school also improved.
Rehobot Kids, discipline doesn’t always feel pleasant when you’re going through it. Sometimes we have to postpone fun, study harder, or accept reprimands when we make mistakes. But God can use all of that to train and shape us into stronger, wiser, and more obedient children.
Just like a coach trains their student to become better, God also uses various circumstances in our lives to produce the fruit of righteousness. That fruit can be patience, obedience, responsibility, and a character that is increasingly pleasing to God.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, don’t give up easily when facing training or discipline. Believe that God is shaping you into strong individuals and producing good fruit to glorify His name!
