Hi, Rehobot Kids!
When you listen to advice from your parents or teachers, what usually happens? Have you ever been asked to do something by Mom, Dad, or your teacher? For example, putting away your toys, doing your homework, or helping at home. Sometimes we want to do something else that we enjoy more. But God’s Word says that a wise person is someone who is willing to accept instructions and learn to obey.
Imagine a child who is learning to ride a bicycle. His dad says, “Hold the handlebars tightly and don’t look down.” If the child listens, he can learn well and won’t fall easily. But if he refuses to listen, he may lose his balance and fall. In the same way, God often helps us through the advice of our parents, teachers, and His Word. When we choose to listen and obey, our lives become safer, more peaceful, and filled with wisdom.
Rehobot Kids, let’s learn to have hearts that are willing to obey. When Mom, Dad, or our teachers give good instructions, we can follow them with joy. Before we begin our day, we can also pray: “Lord, teach me to listen and obey You.”
When we do this, we are training our hearts to be wise and to live in peace with God.
