Today’s devotional is titled:
Listen So You Can Succeed
Proverbs 19:20
“Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.”
One day, Mom said, “Riko, finish your homework first before you go play.” But Riko replied, “Wait mom! I want to play first!” So he played until the evening. That night, Riko finally remembered his homework, but he was already too tired. In the end, he didn’t finish it, and the next day his teacher scolded him.
The following day, Mom reminded him again. This time, Riko chose to listen. He finished his homework first and then went out to play. As a result, Riko felt calm, he wasn’t scolded by his teacher, and he could still enjoy playing with his friends.
Rehobot Kids, God wants us to learn to listen to advice from our parents, teachers, and God’s Word. Even though it may not always feel pleasant, that advice helps us avoid making mistakes.
So starting today, let’s learn to listen and do what is right. Because a child who is willing to listen will grow to become wise and successful.
