Learning Wisdom by Honoring God
Proverbs 1:7
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Rehobot Kids, every day we make many choices. For example, choosing to tell the truth or lie, sharing with friends or keeping everything to ourselves, and helping others or ignoring them. To choose what is right, we need wisdom from God.
Wisdom means the ability to choose and do what is right. The Bible teaches that wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord doesn’t mean we’re terrified of Him, but that we respect, love, and want to do what pleases Him.
Imagine playing in a park with signs. If we follow those signs, we’ll stay safe. But if we ignore them, we might fall or get hurt. It’s the same with God’s Word. When we honor God and follow His Word, we learn to make good choices.
Come on, Rehobot Kids, let’s learn to honor God every day by praying, listening to His Word, and choosing to do what is right. That way, God will help us become wise children who please Him.
