One Heart with the Father
Proverbs 21:2
“Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.”
Rehobot Kids, did you know that God can see what is in our hearts? God is not like a fairy tale character with magical powers, but He is a Father who is very close and full of love. Even before we were born, God already knew what we needed. He created the sun, the moon, plants, and everything else for our good. God also knows what is in our hearts, even what we do not say.
Sometimes we feel that our actions are right. But God sees deeper than just our outward actions. For example, when we fight with our siblings or friends over toys. Do we want to admit our mistakes in our hearts, or do we blame others? When we choose to be honest and apologize, it is a sign that our hearts are learning to be in tune with God.
God longs for us to have humble and sincere hearts. When we receive gifts, we learn to be grateful and not boastful. When we are given delicious and healthy food, we learn to appreciate it and give thanks. Being humble does not mean losing, but choosing to do what is right with a sincere heart to glorify God.
Rehobot Kids, let us pray every day, “Lord, examine my heart. Teach me to have a heart that pleases You.” When our hearts are in harmony with the Father, our lives will be filled with His peace and love.
