God Is Near When My Heart Is Sad
Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Rehobot Kids, have you ever felt so sad that you wanted to cry all the time? Maybe because you were scolded, lost something you loved, had a fight with a friend, or felt misunderstood. A sad heart is like a deflated balloon—it feels weak and unmotivated.
Today’s Word of God reminds us that when our hearts are broken, God comes even closer. God does not distance Himself when we are sad. He does not say, “Don’t cry!” Instead, God embraces our hearts and gives us new strength.
Sometimes we think God is only close when we are happy or when everything is fine. But this verse says the opposite. It is precisely when our souls are broken that God is present to save and restore us. He understands every tear and every disappointment.
Rehobot Kids, if your heart is heavy today, don’t keep it to yourself. Tell God in prayer. Tell Him how you feel. God is near… very near. And He is able to turn sorrow into hope.
Remember, you are never alone. When your heart is broken, God holds you even tighter.
