Today’s devotion title:
Friendship Balloons

Proverbs 17:17
“A friend loves at all times, and becomes a brother in times of trouble.”

Imagine you have a big, colorful balloon that’s bright and fun. Friendship is like that—beautiful, full of joy, and it makes our hearts feel warm. Dara had a best friend named Naya. They often laughed together, shared stationery, and sat side by side while drawing. Dara was thankful to have a friend like Naya.

But one day, Dara wanted to borrow Naya’s scissors. Naya answered in an annoyed voice, “I need it right now! Borrow from someone else!” Dara’s heart suddenly felt like a balloon that popped and went flat. She was disappointed and sad because her friend was being unfriendly.

At home, Dara told her mom everything. Her mom said that friendships can sometimes “go flat,” but love and forgiveness can help them “inflate” again. Mom also reminded her that friends are gifts from God, so we should learn to be thankful—not only when our friends are nice, but also when we get a chance to be patient and forgive.

Dara thought about what her mom said and chose to be thankful and to forgive. The next day, Naya came and said sorry. She told Dara she was just really tired yesterday. Their friendship balloon filled up again—actually even stronger, because they understood each other and were willing to fix things.

Rehobot Kids, friendship is a blessing from God. A strong friendship doesn’t mean there are never problems. It’s built through love, forgiveness, and a thankful heart. So let’s learn to thank God for our friends—they’re like colorful balloons that brighten our lives every day!
