Today’s Devotional is titled:
You’re Drained, Not Defeated
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”- Matthew 11:28
Feeling tired is perfectly normal when serving others. The problem isn’t the tiredness itself, but when we immediately interpret it as a sign of failure. In reality, it might be a signal saying, “Hey, it’s time to rest in the presence of God.” Tiredness isn’t a reason to give up, it’s not a sign that you’re unworthy, and it doesn’t mean you’ve lost. It’s just a sign that you need to recharge.
Even Jesus, who was full of power, often took time for Himself, to recharge, to reconnect with the Father. So why should we keep pushing forward without recharging? If you’re tired, sit down first. Not just to lie down, but for spiritual rest. Sit at the feet of the Lord, so that your heart can be filled again. What we need to remember is that ministry isn’t about how busy you are, but how close you are to the source of strength.
What to Do:
1. Take some special time with God it doesn’t have to be long, just a few minutes each day to pause from all the busyness of ministry.
2. Be honest with God about how you feel express everything as it is. The tiredness, the disappointment, or the loss of enthusiasm.
