Today’s devotional is titled:
Your Life is Your Act of Worship
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,”
— Colossians 3:23
Hi, Rehobot Youth! When you hear the word “worship,” you might picture praise sessions at church, the music team, or the atmosphere of a Sunday service. While those things are indeed part of worship, God teaches us that worship doesn’t stop when the service ends.
In Hebrew, there is a word—’avad’—that can mean working, serving, and worshipping. This shows that for God’s people, our entire lives can be an act of worship to Him. In other words, God is present not only in church but also in the classroom, the workplace, and in every responsibility we carry out.
That is why studying diligently, completing assignments honestly, honing the skills God has given us, and fulfilling our responsibilities with discipline can also be acts of worship. When we do these things to glorify God, we are worshipping Him through tangible actions.
Rehobot Youth, do not limit worship to just the songs we sing or the service we perform at church. God longs to see us honor Him through the way we live every day. Worship is not just what we do in church; it is how we live our lives with God.
What to Do?
• Shift your perspective: studying, working, and personal growth can also be acts of worship to God.
• Carry out every responsibility earnestly, as if doing it for the Lord.
• Use every talent and opportunity God gives you to glorify His name.
